The Conservatoire  à rayonnement régional, that became a national school in 1979, belongs to a network of schools specialised in music and dance. It is mainly funded by the city of Boulogne-Billancourt and the Ministry of Education, Culture and Communication controls the faculty.

The school has two main missions:

To initiate and educate young children in the field of arts and music
To train future professional dancers and musicians
To spread the arts through a dense and diversified cultural year

Its history, location and the excellence of its faculty makes the Conservatoire of Boulogne- Billancourt a famous institution in France as well as overseas. It used to be -and still remains- a melting pot where numerous well-known musicians and choreographs received their musical education.

There are actually 1400 students. Among them, 400 are preparing to enter a professional musical cursus.l.
There are 102 teachers, and 28 persons working as administrative and technical staff.
The Conservatoire has developed numerous exchange programs with Middle Eastern and European schools and has got Erasmus accreditation since 2005.

As an actor of the cultural life of the local community, The Conservatoire proposes a cultural season that enables teachers, students, pupils, and guess artists to meet the public, with events such as concerts, exhibitions, master-classes, lectures etc....

Studying in the Conservatoire

The curriculum conforms with the instructions laid down in the "schéma d'orientation pédagogique" set forth by the Ministry of Culture and Education.
The young children of Boulogne-Billancourt  can start to learn music and dance in excellent academic conditions.
They subsequently continue their curriculum which may last up to fifteen years in the school, either as an extra curricular activity or by joining adapted-time class that allows students to conciliate general studies and artistic studies, through a partnership developed with primary and high schools.
Some of them will prepare the professions of music and dance

Public Activities

The Conservatoire of Boulogne-Billancourt  has facilities that enable us to offer the public a wide and interesting cultural annual program .
Such program emphasises the excellent quality of the teaching offered by the faculty, who tend to put the students of the school in the condition to perform in a stage as often as possible and necessary.
Such program also offers both students and public a wide and permanent outward looking attitude , by inviting "guess artists" for master classes, concerts, and lectures.
